Meat Shortages Due To COVID19 Reactions

Meat Shortages Are Beginning

Meat shortages have been an issue for the last few weeks, but the impact is now being seen across many nations. The main driver behind this is CDC and other regulations that are preventing workers from coming back to work.

Even when workers are back at work many of the facilities are not working at full capacity. There needs to be a balance between the safety of the workers and the ability for the meat processing plants to work at full capacity.

Other food shortages are going to be seen if crops are not planted on time and if seasonal workers are not allowed back into countries they are now banned from. This is not only a problem in the US. It is stretching out to other parts of the world.

The solution to the problem lies in people growing their own food, locals taking over the jobs migrants once occupied, communities coming together to support local farmers, and new grassroots solutions.

You cannot wait around for your government to solve the problem. In many countries, the reason for this problem is due to the actions of the government.

Some countries decided to give out seeds and promote gardening and other activities that lead to self-sufficiency. Other countries decided to ban seeds, limit how people can grow food on their own property, and increased restrictions that closed local farmer’s markets.

This looks like it is only the beginning and larger food security issues are coming. Start to work on these issues at the local level and be prepared.
